Child Care Health Training for Child Care Professionals
|
The goal of emergency preparedness is to ensure the safety of all members of the child
care community. This includes the children, their families and the child care facility staff. Each
caregiver's first responsibility is to protect the children. When caregivers are worried about their
own needs and about the welfare of their loved ones, they are less able to give their full attention to
the children in their care. Adults who work in child care have added responsibilities when planning for
emergencies. Before an emergency occurs, they need to plan for their personal needs and the needs of
their family members.
